$12.99

Introduce students to sheet metal fabrication with this Screwdriver Holder Project Plan Bundle. This beginner-friendly project guides students through building a wall-mounted steel screwdriver holder from a single CNC-cut flat pattern. It is a practical shop project that teaches layout, plasma cutting, deburring, bending, optional tack welding, and finishing while producing a useful tool-organization item.

Designed for Agricultural Mechanics, Metal Fabrication, Welding, CTE, and introductory shop classes, this project is estimated to take 1–2 class periods and is ideal for students who are new to sheet-metal forming.

Project Skills Covered

Students will practice:

  • Reading a DXF flat pattern
  • Identifying bend lines and bend sequence
  • Setting up and cutting parts on a CNC plasma table
  • Deburring inside slots and semicircular openings
  • Making clean 90° bends
  • Using optional tack welds for reinforcement
  • Preparing and finishing metal surfaces

Materials Used

Each project uses approximately 12" × 4½" of 14ga sheet steel, along with optional primer and paint for finishing. The cut list includes one steel holder body cut from the included DXF file.

Project Details

The holder includes five screwdriver slots, semicircular shaft openings, a front support lip, side support bends, and a top mounting flange. Students complete three main 90° bend operations: the front lip bends downward, the side panels bend downward, and the top flange bends upward to create the wall-mounting surface.

Perfect For

This project is perfect for a first CNC plasma or sheet-metal bending assignment. It gives students a quick, useful, and confidence-building fabrication project while reinforcing shop safety, cut quality, bend accuracy, and clean finishing.
